Duane is a first-generation college graduate, former military officer, and attorney dedicated to advocating for public schools. His work is driven by a deep commitment to public service and the public education community. Outside the office, Duane enjoys time with his family and finds peace in nature by kayaking ultramarathons, hunting big game, and hiking all over creation.
Emily Omohundro

Emily Omohundro is an attorney and mother of three who passionately advocates for Missouri public schools. She teaches school law courses to aspiring school leaders for William Woods University, helping shape the next generation of educational leadership. When she’s not practicing law or teaching, Emily is busy cheering on her kids from the sides of fields, pools, and courts. In her spare time, she empties the dishwasher, folds endless piles of laundry, and adds house projects to her husband’s to-do list.
Drew Marriott

Drew finds his purpose in helping educators and school districts navigate important and impactful litigation, having shepherded schools and educators at all levels of Missouri’s state and federal courts . He is driven by the role that public schools played in his life and the importance of public education to the future of Missouri. As a parent of two daughters in public schools, Drew is committed to making sure all students have access to a quality education. When he isn’t in a board room or a courtroom, Drew enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, being tolerated by his beagle, traveling and continuing as a life-long learner.

Tom is a proud St. Louis native and a product of public schools. He’s been with EdCounsel for over a decade, and is driven by a deep belief in the importance of strong public education for all. Outside the office, Tom enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring new places with his dog, and restoring his 1966 Mustang.

Rachel brings experience from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to her practice with EdCounsel. She’s driven by a passion for helping district administrators navigate legal challenges with practical, down-to-earth solutions (and maybe a Diet Mountain Dew or two). Outside the office, she’s a devoted Mizzou Tigers fan and enjoys relaxing at the lake with her husband, Jason, and their families.
Madelynn Garrett

Madelynn, a mid-Missouri native, is deeply driven by a commitment to support districts, especially in rural communities, so they can focus on their top priority: providing quality education to our future. Her passion grew through personal experience, global study abroad programs in Africa, and her work as legal counsel for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, where she focused on special education and school law. When away from work, she enjoys sharing her passion for soccer with her husband, Blake, and their two sons.

Megan is an attorney with a heart for kids and a brain for justice. Before joining the legal world, she was a teacher—and she brings that same patience, passion, and problem-solving to her work every day. With experience at the Missouri Children’s Division, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Office of Civil Rights, Megan has tackled everything from child advocacy to education law with empathy and grit. When she’s not in lawyer mode, you’ll probably find her deep in a Lego build with her husband and son, perfecting their latest masterpiece one brick at a time.

She’s built her legal career around public service, with a strong passion for helping public schools deliver quality education to every child in Missouri. When she's not in the office, Ali enjoys quality time with her three spirited nieces and her two slightly less-spirited cats.

Caryn is a creative professional with a solid background in graphic design and project management. She runs on to-do lists and the thrill of a well-aligned text box. Known for making even the messiest projects look polished and painless, Caryn brings both structure and style to the table. When she’s not wrangling deadlines, she’s living her best life: lounging on a sunny patio with her husband, daughter, a glass of wine in one hand and a book in the other. Bonus points if there’s a cheese plate involved.

Meagan brings 13+ years of experience in finance, lending, and leadership—and somehow still keeps her sense of humor. She’s passionate about growing teams, building great relationships, and showing her kids that leadership isn’t just about spreadsheets (though she secretly loves a good one). When she’s off the clock, you’ll find her wrangling animals on her family’s hobby farm, battling weeds in the garden, or pretending she’s just “stepping outside for a minute” and staying there for hours.

With 24 years of paralegal experience, Amber loves helping people and finds it incredibly rewarding to support public schools every day. Outside of work, she’s the behind-the-scenes MVP of her and her husband’s catering business. Amber soaks up every chance she can get to relax with family and friends at their lake house.

Sally Yotz has spent over 40 years in the legal field and still loves every minute of it. Outside of work, she cherishes time with her family—especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sally enjoys camping, traveling, and has her sights set on exploring the UK and Japan in the near future.
